Veterans advocate and three-time NDEer, Rev. Bill McDonald, Friday January 23

We have the privilege of having three-time NDEr Rev. Bill McDonald speak to us in person, Friday January 23, 2026

Bill McDonald has completed a world tour as an International Inspirational Speaker, Best-Selling Author, Minister, Documentary Film Advisor, decorated war veteran, Award Winning Poet, Meditation Teacher, Artist, World-Wide Advocate for Veterans, and so much more.

His whole life has been a mystical trip in search of self-discovery and the purpose of life. He has been on a continuous spiritual journey, spanning slightly over 7 decades. He has written many books about his spiritually transformative experiences and his 3 “near-death-experiences” including supernatural events during his combat tour-of-duty in the Vietnam War (1966-67).

Since his last address to Utah IANDS, Reverend Bill has been laser focused on writing because he cannot travel everywhere and meet all the people who would like to hear his message but he can convey those teachings to a larger audience through his writings.

Rev. Bill has been able to accumulate healing and spiritual practices from many far-away parts of the world in his spiritual quests. He will conduct a free self-healing workshop (physical, spiritual, mental) Saturday afternoon, January 24 from 1 to 5 pm in our same meeting location. Complications in childbirth cause NDE, Bonni J  Burrows November 28, 2025

Bonni J. Burrows will be joining us this Friday.   Bonni was born on a small, backwoods farm in the Eastern United States at the end of WWII. On the farm, she, her sisters and two older brothers grew up without indoor plumbing, electricity, or phone. Water was carried from a spring in a galvanized bucket and food was cooked on a wood stove, winter and summer. Her father plowed the fields with a mule or horse and her mother washed the family’s clothes on a washboard. The children had very little social interaction outside the family until they were six or seven years old and could go to school. Religious teachings were very fundamental.

In 1975, Bonni was a young mother, living on a small farm, expecting her third child. Complications six months into that pregnancy took her, first to the hospital and then, on the greatest journey of her life—a Love-permeated journey so incredible she would have chosen to abandon her beloved family to remain in that realm, her true home—Our True Home.

Bonni will tell you of consciously leaving the body and traveling to visit her young sons before exiting this world, entering the light and being met on the other side by family, loved ones and her guardian angels. There she met her stillborn sister for the first time, many unborn spirits and a very special soul-mate. This is a story of reunion, forgiveness, and love more powerful than anything known this side of the veil.

She will tell you about her life review, visiting other worlds, being taught things only dreamed about on Earth-plane and truths so complete and crystal clear that we don’t have words for them.

Premonition saves young mother, Stephanie Arnold in person October 24, 2025

Stephanie Arnold will be with us in person to tell her story.

When she was pregnant with her second child, Stephanie Arnold had a sudden and overwhelming premonition that she would die during the delivery. Though she tried to tell the medical team and her family what was going to happen, neither the doctors nor her loved ones gave her warnings credence. Finding no physical indications that anything was wrong, they attributed her foreboding to hormones and anxiety.

One member of the medical team did take her concerns seriously enough and made the fateful decision to order extra units of blood “just in case.” Then, during the delivery, Stephanie suffered a rare Amniotic Fluid Embolism. She went into cardiac arrest and flat-lined for 37 seconds. She died. Using the supplementary blood, the medical team revived her, and she remained unconscious for more than six days.

After months of recovery, Stephanie began to remember details of her experience, details she knew because she had witnessed the entire dramatic event, including her death, from outside her body—beside other spirits that were with her. In this remarkable true story, Stephanie will share her NDE, and the spiritual insights she learned from it. We are not alone and have more loving help than we can imagine.

Anorexia battle leads to near-death experience.

We are honored to have Haley Hatch Freeman speak in person on September 26, 2025.

COVID causes NDE, Holly Porter, August 22, 2025

During her 70-day battle with COVID-19, Holly Porter was placed on life support twice, endured a tracheotomy, sepsis, and multiple infections, and in the midst of it all, she had a detailed, lengthy and profound near-death experience. 

Holly found herself in a vast, light-filled realm surrounded by angelic beings, receiving messages of love, purpose, and resilience that would forever change her life. 

That journey not only brought Holly back, it inspired her mission to help others heal, lead with purpose, and embrace every moment as a gift.

God’s suicide intervention transforms a life, JoAnna Oblander July 25

JoAnna Oblander will speak in-person July 25 at 7 pm in the Salt Lake County Commission Chambers. JoAnna is an author, health and family advocate, seasoned domestic engineer, and business owner. She has been happily married for over 45 years to her best friend, Greg. She is  the mother of six children, two of whom were adopted from Russia, and grandmother to 22 1/2 grandchildren. Her near-death experience occurred in 2002 – at a time in her life when she was suffering from  24/7 migraine headaches, severe depression, and she had become convinced that she was a horrible burden to her husband and family. That night, after she prayerfully announced to God that she planned to join Him the next day, an angel came and took her back to heaven to witness, once again, her pre-life meeting with God.  

Her  book, A Glimpse of Heaven, One Woman’s Life-Altering Visit with God, chronicles her near-death story,  God’s bringing her two adopted children into their family, and her 15 year  pilgrimage to healing.  As a result of her near-death experience, she has a deep desire to help others know God, find healing, understand the profound importance of life, and to help others fulfill their personal missions.

Howard Storm’s salvation from hell, via zoom, June 27

We are pleased to announce that our speaker for our June 27th meeting will be Howard Storm.  Howard Storm is an American Christian minister, writer, and painter. He is a former professor and chairman of the art department at Northern Kentucky University. In 2000, he authored My Descent Into Death, which chronicles his near-death experience. Howard Storm’s unique and wonderful story is a special treat. Howard died in France after developing a hole in his lower intestine. His story has a hellish beginning and ends in heaven. He is sent back with a good deal of knowledge about our relationship to God. His recovery leads him into the ministry, a huge change from his life as an atheist before his experience.

In heaven Howard asked God every question he could think of, and Howard is a deep thinker. After what seemed to him to be about a year, he was told he needed to return to earth and he came back with the promise that he could connect with heaven from time to time.

Howard’s recent health problems prevent him from traveling and speaking in person.

Perhaps the most viewed NDE video in history, Scott Drummond , May 23, 2025

Author and LDS Near-Death Facebook Site Creator, Sheldon Lawrence April 25, 2025

Sheldon Lawrence is a Professor of English at BYU Idaho. He has long had an interest in near-death experiences, and recently wrote a book on the subject, Heaven Will Find You, Heaven Will Find You is a story of how God’s unrelenting grace will pursue every lost soul until they are drawn into everlasting love. Sheldon started the “LDS Near-Death Experiences” Facebook Group, which has over 33 thousand members. Sheldon earned a PhD in English, specializing in the literature of spiritual transformation. He has written for various magazines and literary journals and has won multiple awards for creative non-fiction. He teaches college English at BYU Idaho and lives with his family in Idaho.

Dead for nearly an hour, Vincent Tolman in person March 28, 2025

We are pleased to announce that our presenter for March 28 is Vincent (Vinney) Tolman. At the age of 25, Vincent Tolman was pronounced dead and put in a body bag. Nearly an hour later, he miraculously came back to life. His book, The Light After Death, tells the story of Vincent’s experience–what he saw, what he was taught, and the message of hope and joy he brought back with him to Earth. Vincent was involved in developing health-related supplements but was not able to get a product from his normal source. He and his partner shallowed the concoction, and both lost consciousness in a Dairy Queen. Vincent was in a locked restroom when he died and was cold when they finally found him. His resuscitation was a miracle.
