Dr. Bonthius is an Emergency Medicine Physician in Southern California, with a notable background in neuroscience and near-death experience research. She is a former board member of the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS). Dr. Bonthius has worked with the University of Virginia Division of Perceptual Studies and Stanford University to investigate consciousness, near-death experiences, and survival psychology. Dr. Bonthius is also the founder of Survival Med, a wilderness medical education company, where she merges her medical expertise with her passion for outdoor education.

The Utah IANDS presenter this Friday, February 23 at 7 PM will be Travis Shreeve. Travis believed that there was little chance that he would be exposed to Covid-19 and so hesitated to be vaccinated. As fate would have it, he contracted Covid-19, was hospitalized and at death’s door had an NDE. Travis will tell us what he saw and experienced on the other side, and what he learned. Bonni J. Burrows will be joining us this Friday.   Bonni was born on a small, backwoods farm in the Eastern United States at the end of WWII. On the farm, she, her sisters and two older brothers grew up without indoor plumbing, electricity, or phone. Water was carried from a spring in a galvanized bucket and food was cooked on a wood stove, winter and summer. Her father plowed the fields with a mule or horse and her mother washed the family’s clothes on a washboard. The children had very little social interaction outside the family until they were six or seven years old and could go to school. Religious teachings were very fundamental.

In 1975, Bonni was a young mother, living on a small farm, expecting her third child. Complications six months into that pregnancy took her, first to the hospital and then, on the greatest journey of her life—a Love-permeated journey so incredible she would have chosen to abandon her beloved family to remain in that realm, her true home—Our True Home.

Bonni will tell you of consciously leaving the body and traveling to visit her young sons before exiting this world, entering the light and being met on the other side by family, loved ones and her guardian angels. There she met her stillborn sister for the first time, many unborn spirits and a very special soul-mate. This is a story of reunion, forgiveness, and love more powerful than anything known this side of the veil.

She will tell you about her life review, visiting other worlds, being taught things only dreamed about on Earth-plane and truths so complete and crystal clear that we don’t have words for them.

We are pleased to announce that our speaker for Friday, August  25, will be Bill English, president of the Utah Chapter of IANDS. A few years ago, Bill had an infection that nearly ended his life but resulted a leg amputation. This will be Bill’s first return to our local chapter since that time.

Many who have attended IANDS have heard Bill explain the nature of the near-death experience, and the purposes of the International Association for Near-Death Studies, one of which is to learn from those who have had an NDE.

In July 1991, Bill and his brother, Bob, were riding their ATVs in the sand dunes near Saint Anthony, Idaho. Bill’s machine threw him, and he landed on his head, breaking his back. After removal by helicopter to a local hospital, and later being transport to the U of U Medical Center, Bill’s medical emergency deepened. His brother was told that Bill probably would not live, and if he did live, he would be paralyzed and need help for the rest of his life. Bill was comatose for over four weeks. During that time, he had two out-of-body experiences.

We are pleased to announce that Eloise Weaver will be our speaker Friday, July 28, 2023. Eloise has had two brushes with death that erased the veil.

The first experience was when Eloise was nine or ten years old.  She had Rheumatic Fever and was very sick and bed-ridden for about three months.  One evening, her parents left her to take her little brother to the hospital because he had swallowed something.  Eloise was afraid and prayed for help.  Jesus came to see her, told her not to be afraid and cured her.  

The next experience occurred when Eloise, her husband and their daughter were in a terrible car accident while on vacation in Montana.  Eloise’s neck was broken and her husband was killed.  Eloise left her body and met with her husband’s spirit in the air.  He told her he was being called home but she had to stay and raise their daughters.

Utah IANDS is excited to announce our May speaker Matthew Dovel, featured on ABC news 20/20 and Coast-to-Coast radio. 

Matthew’s first NDE at age 12 happened when he almost drowned. He was engulfed by a white light that permeated his very soul.

Later, due to tremendous trials, Matthew tried to kill himself and went to a dark place he describes as hell, from where he was redeemed and brought back.
